Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the query and supplies its results. Monroe County Court Docket does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, server and analytics systems may automatically receive technical information about the visit:
- Pages viewed, visit duration, and page-view timestamps
- Device category and operating system
- The referring site, when one is reported
- Browser type and version
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure page use, popular content, and exit patterns. Analytics providers may aggregate this traffic data. Browser controls can block cookies, although disabling them may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Diagnosing technical faults and performance issues
- Operating the site and improving load speed
- Measuring which content is useful or needs revision
- Displaying advertising that may reflect user interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Monroe County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case information. It publishes general directions to the Monroe County Clerk of Circuit Court, Wisconsin Circuit Court, municipal clerks, and WCCA. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party dossiers.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through a partner tool is governed by that provider's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices. Those practices are outside this site's control, so review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Monroe County Clerk of Circuit Court, Wisconsin court services, legal resources, or outside search tools. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy policy governs. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across sites and select relevant ads. Their tracking practices are controlled by their policies.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a submitted query
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
- Advertising networks serving site ads
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security, however, and this site cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information learned to have come from a minor will be removed as required.
Your Data Rights
Applicable Wisconsin and federal privacy or consumer-protection laws may provide rights concerning personal data. Wisconsin Public Records Law, including Wis. Stat. ยง19.35, governs requests to public custodians, but it does not turn this private site into a government records authority. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Ask what personal information is held about you
- Opt out of processing where applicable law provides that choice
- Seek deletion of eligible personal data
